About Gilbreth
Gilbreth is
conveniently located in a 100,000 square foot facility 30 minutes
outside of Philadelphia.
Gilbreth invented the shrink market 40 years ago, and we continue
to evolve to support today’s packaging.
Founded in 1960, Gilbreth is the oldest heat-shrink label
manufacturer and converter in the United States.
In 1982, Gilbreth pioneered gravure printing on shrink film, and
in 1983 designed the tamper-evident band in response to the Tylenol
tampering incident.
Gilbreth's history as an innovator continued in 1991 with the
full-body label which then became an alternative to pressure
sensitive paper and film.
In 1999, the acid-etched look was introduced, and in 2001 high
opacity inks were developed and used on shrink as a replacement for
bottle painting.
In 1993, Gilbreth solved art distortion problems on high shrink
films, and in 2003 brought micro-printing to shrink.
Innovation continued in 2004 with the translucent films and
Gilbreth continues to be a industry leader today with iridescent and
holographic files, PLA film, metalized and color shifting inks, and
a number of other products and processes that differentiate our
customers shelf presence.
